The Höldrichsmühle is a charming and practical location for visiting remarkable sights. Not many large cities offer such a beautiful landscape and recreational area such as the Vienna Woods has to offer. The landscape with its many cultural sights, hills, forests, lush meadows and vineyards has been put under UNESCO biosphere protection.
The Vienna Woods is rich in culturally interesting sights. Staying at the place where Franz Schubert was inspired to his famous song "The Lindentree", you are in an ideal starting point to visit the Liechtenstein Castle, the Cistercian Monastary Heiligenkreuz or the Habsburg memorial sight in Mayerling. The nature park Sparbach with its romantic falsettos, large trees and freely roaming wild boars are attractive especially to nature lovers and children.
WANDERN & SPAZIEREN
Hiking in the Vienna Woods can mean a short walk, but also some challenging walks which require good footwear! Directly from the hotel, you can enter the nature park with 80 km sign-posted trails. The "Schubert Trail" gives you a lovely insight and offers a fantastic view of Vienna from the impressive "Temple of the Hussars". Or visit the "Matterhörndl", after which you can continue in a pleasant walk to a cozy inn called "Krauste Linde". After a drink or snack, it's just a downhill path back to the hotel. Or continue to hike over to the vineyard and stop off at one of the many heurigens (wine taverns), after which you can comfortable take a taxi back to the Höldrichsmühle. Families love the Nature Park Sparbach with it's romantic falsettos, large trees and free roaming wild boars.
CYCLING & MOUNTAINBIKE
A paradise for cyclists, whether on a touring bike, race or mountainbike, the area around the Höldrichsmühle offers many beautiful and fun cycling routes. Follow the "Mödlingbach" cycle path and connect to the Eurovelo 9 or to the "Weingarten" route through the vineyards. Mountainbikers will find a variety of tours in the new Mountainbike Area Anninger, offering comfortable and challenging routes in a pittoresque, alpine-like landscape.
The hotel-owned horse riding school offers riding lessons for children and adults. Discover the horse breeds of the former imperial empire, including Lipizzaners, Huzules and Shagyas. Enjoy lessons with qualified instructors. The stable is also open just to visit and enjoy watching riding lessons.
WINE & THE "HEURIGEN"
Taste the wines unique to the Thermal Vienna Woods wine-growing area - the "Rotgipfer" and "Zierfandler". Enjoy quality wines in one of the many famous wine-taverns known as Heurigen., which next to wine usually offer food in buffet form. On the first two weekends in September, the area transforms into the "largest wine bar in the world" - something you do not want to miss. In our restaurant, you can taste through many wines from the glass.
